Headwaters Relief Organization
North American Banking Company donated funds to help the organization purchase a new trailer that will deliver needed equipment and supplies to areas affected by disaster.
Golden Valley-based Headwaters Relief Organization is a non-profit disaster relief organization that started in 2005 as a grassroots response to the devastation in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward from Hurricane Katrina. After that experience, Headwaters continued to expand nationally in response to disasters, with volunteers providing public health, psychological and medical support as well as disaster clean-up and re-building.
Headwaters has expanded internationally, responding to disasters in Haiti, the Philippines, Nepal, and other areas that have been impacted by disasters. In 2017, Headwaters was selected as one of four charities that USAID endorsed following their work with Hurricane Harvey alongside Habitat for Humanity, Americares, and Direct Relief.
Earlier this year, North American Banking Company provided a donation to Headwaters, helping them purchase a trailer that will help deliver much-needed supplies and equipment to the areas they serve. Senior VP/Business Banking Brad Benesh also serves on the leadership team of Headwaters and helped arrange the donation.
“I am honored to be involved with such a great organization that inspires to help others,“ said Benesh. “I am proud that North American Banking Company can lend its support.”
"The trailer is a game changer for us," said Lauren Lombard, Development Director at Headwaters Relief Organization. "Having all of our supplies packed and ready to go will allow us to respond faster and with more volunteers."
